Discrepancies Between Batch Reports and Financial Reports
Due to changes in credit card storage requirements (part of PCI-DSS compliance), you may see some payments processed through a different merchant account than in the past. We are required to minimize long-term storage of credit cards – which are actually charged a higher rate by the processor than single-use swipes (considered card-present), anyways. Until last year, all credit cards processed were stored until their expiration dates. Now, card charges can be “chained” up to 90 days only, when the TTID (terminal transaction identifier) is purged from Monetra’s database. Behind the scenes, the netPark system handles TTIDs in the same way that you would if you entered that value into the Register screens. That Register feature has always been time-limited; the limit has just been expanded to other aspects of the system.
Which Merchant Account Holds Payments?
Any time that a single-use credit card (meaning not placed on-file for recurring payments) is re-used to adjust payments, the original merchant account used.
The distinguishing factor is where the credit card was originally entered.
Here are a few examples of such cases:
Balance paid on ticket with reservation prepayment’s credit card (Retail, Ecommerce – previously only Retail)
Reservation overpayment refunded after parking (Retail, Ecommerce – previously only Retail)
Register payment by TTID (Retail, Ecommerce, Monthly, Kiosk – previously only Retail)
Any credit cards placed on-file with customers or tickets are handled as beforehand.
How Does This Affect Reporting?
Some Ticket payments may show on the Ecommerce Batch Report.
Reservation overpayment refunds will show on the same Batch Report category as the original payment.
Register payments by TTID will show on the same Batch Report category as the original payment referenced.
To help with referencing which Batch Report holds the payment, the Daily Business Report contains a letter prefix to the batch number:
R for Retail
E for Ecommerce
M for Monthly
K for Kiosk
S for Self Park Ecommerce
As of 2016.01.0, you can also place credit cards on file with companies for payment with recurring bills or for tickets. For the former, the monthly account is used; for the latter, the retail account is used.

Details on the days – chgd Calculations
The true time calculation is simply the duration of time between the Open Date and the Close Date, rounded up to the nearest minute. The “chgd” (charged) time calculation is based on the rate structure for a particular ticket and how that ticket was charged. Time units count for the following fractions of days:
Minutes: 1/1440
Hours: 1/24
Days: 1
Weeks: 7
Months: 30
The following scenarios are based on a stay of exactly 4.5 “true” days (i.e. 4 days and 12 hours):
Rate 1: $10.00/day – Fractional day rounds up, so customer is charged for 5 days
Rate 2: $1.00/hour, $10.00/day – Customer charged 4 full days, $12.00 of hourly charges exceed daily charge, so another full day is added, making 5 charged days
Rate 3: $0.50/hour, $10.00/day – Customer charged 4 full days and $6.00 of hourly charges for the 12 hours, making 4.5 charged days
Rate 4: $10.00/day, time-based grace period – Customer charged 4 full days, ticket falls within specialized grace period settings to exclude final day, making 4 charged days
Rate 5: $50.00/week – Customer charged flat weekly rate, making 7 charged days
